So they have officially discontinued dark brown, which is the #1 shade used! I am extremely upset! Now I know why I havent been able to find the darn shade for the past 3 weeks! I have been on a heavy search and had absolutley no luck!

I seriously went to every Target, Walmart, and drugstore I know looking for this and then I found out it was discontinued! I was so upset... no joke. I've been using this for YEARS; it was one of the only drugstore makeup products that I owned. So I went into Sephora looking for a similar one (knowing it would probably cost 5 times as much) and I came across the Sephora brand retractable brow pencil and I LOVE IT! It is better than the Maybelline one in every way, and I never thought I'd find another good one. It costs about 12 dollars, which isn't THAT bad for a good product. I promise you'll like it if you try it. Midnight Brown is almost exactly like the Maybelline dark brown. Try it!
ReplyDeleteanother option is Origins. Their eyebrow pencil works just as well as Define-A-Brow. The only problem is that it costs twice as much as the Maybelline.
DeleteSo glad I saw this! I too have looked everywhere for the automatic dark brown Maybelline pencil that I have used for years. Oddly, Maybelline still carries the cheap pencils that need sharpening. Who on earth wants to sharpen? I will try the Sephora and the Origins. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteMaster Shape Brow Pencil is horrible, its too gel like and the absolute worst part for me is that it runs out incredibly fast and there is no automatic refill or sharpening. Im so upset!
DeleteYou can sharpen Master Shape Brow Pencil:) It doesn't seem like it because it looks like plastic but you can sharpen it. Try it out!

ReplyDeleteI’ve heard nothing but great reviews about the Maybelline Define-A-Brow Dark in Brown #642 being the perfect dupe to the MAC Brow Pencil in Spiked. There is no other manufacture that comes close to the MAC dupe for Spiked (trust me, I’ve researched YouTube and so many blogs and they all point to Maybelline Define-A-Brow).
ReplyDeleteI too have looked everywhere in drugstores from Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, K-Mart and beyond to get my hands on this instead of paying $16 at MAC online. But no luck. The only place that I could find that had it was Amazon and Ebay. Of course since it was discontinued they doubled the price of ranging from $14-19, depending on where you get it from (but at least some of the sellers are offering free shipping). So I bit the bullet and got it!
Can’t wait to try it on and reep the benefits that everyone has been ranting and raving about. I most likely will use it for special occasion considering that its now considered a “limited edition” item!
